About Me
My name is Jeffrey Narcisse and I am a senior at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. Since I was a sophomore, I have always enjoyed helping young students stay on track and encouraging them to do their best. Through sports, I have learned that teamwork is all about encouraging your teammates and picking each other up when we are down. I have learned that putting my team before myself was more rewarding and successful than putting myself before my team. I have been playing basketball since I was seven years old. I started playing for my middle school basketball team the St. Augustine Knights and then began playing AAU basketball for the CT Northstars. I am a two-year varsity letterer for SMSA. I have also began coaching the St. Augustine Knights my freshmen and sophomore year. During my senior year, I am coaching 8th graders for the Saturday Hoopsters. I have been a part of the National Honors Society since my sophomore year and have volunteered at every blood drive held and at Cycle of Life. I have volunteered my time to mentoring middle schoolers in the Greater Hartford area keeping them on track in school and involved in the community through sports.
Who We Are
My Partner, Daquan Carr (10), and I played basketball together since freshmen year at SMSA. Daquan wanted to focus more on how to create an effective mentoring program and I wanted to focus more on the effects of mentoring on youth. We both worked together in coordinating the mentoring program, finding mentors and pairing mentors with mentees.
